VTT Active Hyperspectral Sensor explained

Check out our latest video! One of the big challenges in plastic recycling is the quality control of recycled plastic. The degradation degree of the plastic - mainly caused by weathering and exposure to UV (solar) radiation - affects its properties, and may render the plastic unusable. In the PRIMUS project, we are utilizing the novel  VTT Active Hyperspectral Sensor (AHS) to sort the recyclable from non-recyclable plastic waste pieces according to their degradation degree. We have posted a brief simulation video to explain the process so click below to see how it works! https://youtu.be/1MVcEsV4LIE?si=Z9gT2y7JDKn87rWV  ...

PRIMUS at ECP4

Hello community, We recently presented the PRIMUS project in the ECP4 Annual Conference in San Sebastián, Spain. From the worlds of academia, research centres, and trade associations, experts gave their input during the ECP4 event with the topic "Trends in polymers and composites circularity: from advanced materials to industrial applications”. ECP4 The European Composites, Plastics and Polymer Processing Platform is an industry-driven collaboration uniting the top-level European research institutions, regional plastic clusters, and EU-level industrial organisations of plastics and composites converters. Together with other European projects, our partner Carolina Mejía from MONDRAGON Corporation gave an excellent presentation about PRIMUS, explaining the objectives, consortium partners and demontrations that are currently...

3rd Consortium Meeting in The Hague

Circularise and Coolrec hosted the 3rd Consortium Meeting of the PRIMUS Project in the Netherlands In May 8th and 9th PRIMUS partners travelled to The Hague, Netherlands, for the 3rd Consortium Meeting. This has been another opportunity to meet after the last face to face Consortium Meeting in Joensuu, Finland, held in December. During these couple of days we focused on updating the partners about the developed tasks with the chance to discuss the results of the previous months. Furthermore, we engaged in interesting discussions about the recent developments and align future steps for the following months working together in the PRIMUS project. Some of the...

Good Practices in Cross-Project Collaboration

For those of us working on research projects, we know that it is always a good practice to generate links with other initiatives related to the scope of our own project. This is particularly important when these projects are funded by the European Commission, as it is mandatory and a contractual obligation to assure that these relations are established. This practice was set in the early HORIZON 2020 and continues in the current framework HORIZON Europe One reason would be the multiplier effect which these relations would bring the development teams as drivers reducing the gaps between close-up disciplines. In fact, if you ask researchers and...
